Calistoga Ranch Wedding Venue
Unique Architecture
Renovated with care by owner Derek Webb, the Triple S Ranch displays interesting architectural pieces he collected from around the world. Most pieces are from the pre-World War I period when the focus on detail-oriented craftsmanship and built-to-last durability was at its zenith. The Triple S Ranch is a celebration of a bygone era when functional things also expressed beauty and longevity. Some of the architectural pieces at our Calistoga ranch wedding venue include stone and iron columns from the San Francisco earthquake, a copper bell tower from Harvard University, iron fencing from New York City, and fountains from France.
Built in 1869, the “high Victorian” farmhouse boasts large rooms, high ceilings, and a generous porch. Besides the many original Victorian details, visitors can admire an 800-pound chandelier from Albany, New York that dates to 1878, mid-to-late 1800s pier mirrors from Nevada City, California and Savannah, Georgia, and late 1800s cabinets from Nice, France and nearby Healdsburg, California. The gracious front-entry staircase was restored with parts from the late 1800s from Portland, Oregon.
Original Rustic Charm
The other main building at the Triple S Ranch is an original 1860s dairy barn built on the side of a hill so hay could be stored upstairs while cows were milked downstairs. In the 1920s the structure was transformed into a winery as the ranch moved from raising cattle to growing grapes and apricots. In the 1950s this building morphed yet again into a roadhouse restaurant frequented by locals such as Robert Mondavi.
When it came time for Derek to repurpose this versatile structure into a 2,200-square-foot event space, he added antique elements such as doors from Argentina and Paris, France that open out onto newly-built stone terraces using curbstones from San Francisco and a 30-foot vintage bar from Ukiah, California. Exquisite Argentine wainscoting and keg taps from London as well as railings, newel posts, and newel post bronze statues—among other items—all date to the mid-to-late 1800s.
The unique atmosphere of the Triple S Ranch can be attributed in part to the inspired collection of vintage furnishings and design elements that grace the Calistoga property. Visitors to the ranch enjoy the combination of beautiful natural surroundings, historic architecture, and thoughtfully furnished interiors and make memories that will last a lifetime.
